Where does the time for one guest go?
About 3 seconds draw the frames and the rest encodes the video. The browser that draws them opens once for the whole queue, so a large send is no slower per guest than a small one.

What makes a send take longer?
The length of the card. A card twice as long takes about twice as long to send, which is why an arrival stops at 12 seconds.
What makes a send finish sooner?
Leaving the names off. A send with no names is one video, so it finishes in seconds however long the list is.
Is the estimate a promise?
No. Your send shares the queue with other events, so a busy evening runs slower than a quiet morning. The wait costs you nothing: the price is per guest and does not change.
